INFLUENCE · account and data deletion

In the app (fastest)

Open INFLUENCE and sign in.
Go to Settings → Delete account.
Enter your password, type DELETE and confirm.

It happens immediately and cannot be undone.

What is erased

Your account, username, display name, bio and password hash.
Every one-to-one chat you were in, for you and the other person, with all photos and files.
Everything you sent in groups: the text and files are removed for everyone, and you leave the group. Short group notices such as “X left” remain.
Your devices and sign-ins, push-notification tokens, blocks, and reports you made or that were made about you.

What is kept

A log of actions taken by our administrators (ids and the action only, no messages).
Short-lived server logs (up to 14 days) and, if enabled at our database provider, encrypted backups that rotate out, normally within 35 days.
Copies that other people already saved, screenshotted or downloaded, which we cannot reach.

If you cannot open the app

Lost your password or your phone? Email us from any address with the subject Delete my account and your username. We will reply with a short code. Put the code in your profile bio from any device that is still signed in, or tell us if none is. Once we can see it, we delete the account. We do this to make sure nobody can delete someone else’s account. We answer within 7 days.

We cannot verify ownership of an account if neither the password, a signed-in device, nor the bio code is available.
